ABOUT STEFANIE

Stefanie has spent nearly five decades immersed in the study and practice of visual art and ceramics. Raised along the Southern California coast, she earned a BFA in ceramics and a Master of Education from the University of Southern California. Following a rewarding career teaching art in Eastern Ontario, she made her home on Vancouver Island, where the island’s rugged beauty continues to shape and inspire her work.

Specializing in hand-building techniques, Stefanie creates abstract sculpture and pottery that reflect her enduring fascination with the intricate forms and textures of the natural world. Her pieces are marked by a playful imagination, a love of art history and architecture, and a deep connection to the organic patterns found in plants and animals.
